Volume 1 - Issue 54

Spring 2006

Tahoe PhotoGreetings and aloha to our SRO fans. It has been a while since I have written you all.  FYI, we are still rocking and rolling the Bay Area as well as much of the country.  Recent road dates have taken us all over the country, from Vegas to Scottsdale, from Fresno to Tahoe.  In April we had the pleasure of performing at Pier 48 for the 1ooth anniversary of the San Francisco Earthquake.  Now that truly rocks!  We are still having a ball.

What have we been up to Dept.

Everyone is as busy as ever, and as you know by now, many SRO members wear many hats in the music business.  Members have performed over the last year with such luminaries as Boz Skaggs, Robben Ford, Huey Lewis, and many others.

I personally had the good fortune of hosting a local awards show that honored the likes of Green Day, George Duke, and others.  I actually met the 85-year old legend Dave Brubeck.  He totally rocks (or swings, take your pick).  Also, I want to thank the folks at Strings Magazine for a nice feature in their mag.  Great shot of my dog Attie.

Glad You Are Back Dept.

After a lengthy hiatus from the group, we are delighted to welcome back vocalist Sandy Griffith to the front line.  Sandy is sounding better than ever, and the band and audience are digging her return.  In addition, Sandy is working on her own thing and has recently given two stellar performances at Maxwell’s in Oakland.

Say Good-bye Dept.

On the flip side, one of our fabulous dancers, Jennifer Jones, has departed to make her move to the Big Apple.  We wish her all the luck in the world, and hope she did not see too many episodes of "Sex and the City".

Please stay tuned and we hope to see you all in the Bay Area with a performance a little later this year.

Peace & Love,

“Maestro” Dick Bright, bandleader, SRO
