Calendar Update

FRIDAY, AUGUST 1, 2003
THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY FAIR
PAVILION STAGE
6:00PM--7:00PM & 8:00PM--9:00PM

Happy summer, all you SRO fans. Summertime, and the livin' is easy. We hope everyone is staying cool and having lots of fun. Come join us for our only summer appearance. It's at the Santa Clara County Fair August 1, and unlike our club dates, here is an opportunity to bring the whole family! I promise to do our "G" rated family show (no "50 Cent" medley) and will pay for a corn dog for anyone who can prove they ate the whole thing. Please stop by, and say hello.

On The Road Again Dept.

As always, SRO is on the move across the entire United States. This year's travel includes such groovy places as Denver, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Lake Tahoe, Seattle, and how could I forget Sacramento? Being in New Orleans for Mardi Gras (checkout a few photos) was exceptionally fun, and I highly recommend it to everybody to try one time. Ramos fizzes and voodoo, how can you go wrong?

Where Are They Now Dept.

If you have followed the band through the years, you know that some members have retired and moved on to other musical adventures. A tip of the SRO cap to Tommy Dunbar, former guitarist and one of our original members. Tommy has relocated in the Sacramento area, opened his own studio and is playing and recording up a storm! Lots of cool music and even some jingles you hear every day on Bay Area radio. Listen for those Big O tire ads. It's all Tommy. Besides, Big O, what a great name for a company.

Brush With Greatness Dept.

Through the years we have had the good fortune of sharing stages with some of the top pop acts in show biz. Recently we have gigged with such folks as Credence Clearwater Revisited, Earth, Wind and Fire, Kenny Rogers (the singer, not the Minnesota Twins pitcher), and just last week the Spinners. It was extremely cool to hear those great Philly International hits. Great songs, great records. Ah, the joys of show business.

SRO Trivia Fact #3,451

The letter Z does not exist in any SRO band member names.

That's it for now. Please feel free to e-mail and say hi any time. And please come on out to the Santa Clara Fair. A great time will be had by all.

Peace & Love,

“Maestro” Dick Bright, bandleader, SRO
