Noozletter

Volume 3- Issue #35,256

October 2001

Greetings to all of our SRO fans.

We thank you for checking out this most recent Noozletter in these extremely strange and difficult times. All of the SRO family wishes everyone well, and we hope that you are keeping your spirits up as best as possible.

If you have visited us before, you know that humor is a large part of the SRO show. Naturally, it is a lot more difficult at this time to be "humorous". However, as comedian and friend of SRO Jeremy Kramer points out, now is one of those rare times that musicians, entertainers, and comedians can truly help America by helping people get back to enjoying life. For those who attended our show at Bimbo's September 21, all had a much needed wonderful time. We sincerely thank those that turned out for a super high evening of music and dance. Thanks to SRO alumnus Claytoven for a fantastic sit-in on the Earth, Wind, and Fire Medley. Same to our fabulous dancer retiree Coco who also graced the stage.

Soulful Night

If you read our last Noozletter, I was scheduled to play the National Anthem on my funky fiddle on Sept. 14 at Pacific Bell Park. Needless to say, that performance was canceled along with all major league baseball games. The San Francisco Giants were kind enough to ask me to play "America The Beautiful" on October 5. It was quite an emotional experience to play that song for 40,000 people. Also, there happened to be about 400 media folks following Barry Bonds in his home run quest. Lucky me, my mug was seen on national TV including CBS Evening News.

Still Doing Cool Gigs

Recently the band traveled to Santa Barbara to perform at one of the most amazing weddings in recent memory. We ended up sharing the stage with the ever-rocking Clarence Clemons and the legendary Etta James. Etta was off the hook, and to listen to her up close gave goosebumps to everyone in the band and audience.

That's it for now. Please look for SRO to be back at Bimbo's either later this year or early next year. Of course we will keep you all posted. Again, thanks to those in attendance September 21. Everyone in SRO sends good thoughts to all. Keep the faith!

That's it for now. Please keep visiting our site to find out about other upcoming performance dates. Again, the band and I can't thank you enough for all your support and continued interest in SRO. Take care, everyone.

Peace & Love,

"Maestro" Dick Bright, bandleader, SRO
